A Guide to Surviving Your High School Senior Photoshoot
Graduating high school is a big milestone, and senior photos are a way to capture and commemorate this exciting time in your life. But let’s be real, getting your picture taken can be nerve-wracking and awkward, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. Fear not, my friend, because I’ve got some tips to help you feel confident and look fabulous in your senior photoshoot.
Choose your outfit wisely:
Remember, these photos will be around for a long time, so pick something you’ll be happy to look back on in ten years. Avoid bold patterns, neon colors, and anything that could potentially date the photos. Also, make sure your clothes fit well and are comfortable, because nobody wants to spend their entire photo session pulling at their shirt or adjusting their pants.
If you do a session with me for your senior pictures, you’ll have access to my client wardrobe which includes some gorgeous couture gowns and beautiful accessories.
Accessorize:
A little bit of bling can go a long way in making you feel more confident and polished. Whether it’s a statement necklace, some funky earrings, or a cool pair of shades, adding a few accessories can make all the difference. Just be careful not to go overboard, or you might end up looking like a Christmas tree.
Hair, makeup, and skincare:
Your hair and skin will be front and center in your photos, so take the time to pamper yourself beforehand. Get a haircut, deep condition your hair, and moisturize your skin. If you’re not a makeup pro, consider hiring a makeup artist to make sure you look your best. All of my senior sessions include professional hair & make up so that you’ll be feeling confident and gorgeous during your senior photoshoot.
Practice your smile:
Smiling for the camera can feel awkward, but it’s a crucial part of any photoshoot. So, practice in the mirror, or better yet, have your mom take some candids and see what smile looks best. Trust me, your future self will thank you for finding the perfect smile.
Be yourself:
The most important tip of all is to be yourself. Don’t try to be someone you’re not or pose in a way that feels unnatural. The goal is to capture the real you, so relax, have fun, and let your personality shine through.
Your senior photos are a way to freeze time and remember this exciting moment in your life. By following these tips, you’ll be able to focus on having fun and capturing memories, instead of worrying about how you look. So, relax, have fun and let the good times roll!
